Pressure Design Criteria (Scripted) [WDS O5.5]: Water Distribution Main Replacement & PRV Setting Optimization w/ Fire-Flow Considerations

General Project Background:
This design criteria example is based on a utility that was utilizing Optimizer WDS to determine the optimal pipe size configuration and pressure reducing valve settings to implement as a part of their organization's broader Capital Improvment Plan (CIP). The engineers wanted to consider designs that would be able to maintain the appropriate presures under both standard and fireflow conditions assessed at hydrants throughout the network model.

Watch the video below for a walk through of the Pressure Design Criteria (Scripted) component of the formulation. An Optimatics Strategic Support Team (SST) member will explain the design criteria as well as the strategy used to implement it for this specific use case. For more detailed documentation on the Pressure Design Criteria (Scripted) for the Optimizer WDS integration module, please visit this link or contact one of our SST representatives through the Crisp chat window.
