General Project Background:
This decision example is based on a utility that was utilizing Optimizer WDS to determine the optimal pipe size configurations to implement as a part of their organization's water mains replacement plan within the broader Capital Improvment Plan (CIP). The engineers wanted to consider a range of pipe sizes for non-dead-end service lines, and the design needed to be tested under fireflow conditions assessed at hydrants throughout the network model.
